On Sunday, September 13, 2020,the first activity of the English Association of the College of Foreign Languages was officially held at 333 in the South teaching building.

2020年9月13日星期天，外国语学院英语协会第一次活动在教学南楼333正式举行。

The English Association of the College of Foreign Languages is an interest community which is committed to improving the participants' English ability. It focuses on improving the members' practical ability of oral English, thinking ability and communication ability by rich and colorful activities.

外国语学院英语协会是致力于提高参与者英语能力的兴趣社团，以丰富多彩的活动着重提高成员的英语口语实际运用能力,思辨能力和交际能力。

In this activity, in order to deepen the students' understanding of the definition of verbs and improve our practical ability of using verbs and our oral English level in mutual communication, departments of the association decided to hold words guessing competitions and free communication activities after discussion.

为了加深同学们对动词释义的理解，提升动词的实际运用能力，在相互交流中提高英语口语水平，协会各部门讨论后决定本次活动举行猜词比赛和自由交流活动。

This activity was divided into two parts.

Part one, Words Guessing Game, "You describe, I guess."

Part two, Free communication—My summer vacation.

本次活动分为两部分：第一部分猜词游戏，“你来描绘，我来猜。”第二部分自由讨论:我的暑假生活。

Before the activity, the president and vice president of the association respectively explained the rules and regulations of the English Association, the composition of the English Association, the types of activities and the credit of the after-class course.

活动开始前，协会会长和副会长分别就英语协会的组成人员、活动类型和第二课堂学分等英语协会的规章制度进行了讲解。

First of all, it’s the Words Guessing Game.The participants turned to act as descriptors and guessers. The descriptors were not allowed to say the selected verb, but the information related to the word is disclosed for guessing. After the end of the confrontation between the ABC groups, a fierce competition was conducted to form the winning team. Then it was the second part, Free communication—My summer vacation. Participants took summer vacation as the theme and conducted positive one-to-one communication.

首先进行的是猜词游戏，“你来描绘，我来猜。”参与同学轮流充当描绘者和猜词者的角色，描绘者不可说出所选动词，而是分条透露与该词相关的信息，以供猜词者猜想。在ABC小组间对抗结束后，又进行了激烈的抢答环节，决胜出了优胜小组。接着进行的是第二部分活动，自由讨论：我的暑假生活。参与同学围绕我的暑假生活为主题，进行了一对一的积极交流。

Although the event was not fully publicized and the participants did not meet the expectations, the active cooperation of the participants made the first activity of the English association go smoothly. In this activity, members’ oral English ability has been improved. In the future, the English Association will also hold more activities to improve the English level of its members. Participants also will be rewarded with credits, and the association will give gifts to active participants from time to time.

尽管这次活动在宣传方面不是很到位，参加的人员没有达到预期。但是参与人员共同配合使得英语协会第一次活动顺利进行。成员们在英语交流中，英语口语能力得到了一些提升。今后英语协会也会举办更加丰富多样的活动，来使协会成员共同提高英语水平。参与者也会有第二课堂学分的奖励，协会还会不定期给积极的参与成员发放礼品。
